CALL TO ACTION: PARENTS — IT’S TIME FOR ACCOUNTABILITY IN ABBOTSFORD
If you’re a parent in the Abbotsford School District who’s lost trust in this Board’s leadership, now is the time to speak up.
Our children deserve better than a Board that hides behind policy loopholes, dismisses parental concerns, and quietly removes explicit materials from libraries without any transparency—while publicly downplaying the very concerns that led to those removals.
I’m encouraging all parents to send the message below to the Abbotsford School District and request the resignation of the Board Chair. Copy, paste, and send to:

SUBJECT: Request for the Immediate Resignation of the Board Chair
Dear [Chair’s Name],
Cc: Trustees of the Abbotsford School District; Superintendent Nathan Ngieng
I am writing to formally request your resignation as Chair of the Abbotsford School District Board of Education.
Your leadership has failed to uphold transparency, accountability, and fairness—values essential to representing parents and protecting children. The Board has:
• Dismissed legitimate parental appeals regarding inappropriate and sexually explicit materials in school libraries, including Eleanor and Park.
• Refused to hear appeals contrary to Section 11 of the BC School Act and Board Policy 14.
• Quietly removed controversial books without public acknowledgment or explanation.
• Allowed ideology to influence educational priorities — promoting the false claim that there are “many genders” to impressionable students, openly promoting sexual confusion and disregarding age-appropriate values.
This approach has eroded public confidence and fostered a culture of secrecy. The District’s history of staff sexual misconduct cases—such as Vice-Principal Michael Haire and teacher Henry Kang—should have prompted stronger safeguards and open communication. Instead, trust has further declined.
For the sake of restoring public confidence and prioritizing student safety, I respectfully call for your immediate resignation as Chair of the Board.
Sincerely,
[Your Full Name]
Concerned Parent
